Yeah for you, Moody!

Cute little furry friends. Don't you have enough kids to keep you company, though? :wink:

MOODS: Your cat is a dead ringer for our Lucy! I will try to get a pic up on here but its so bloody complicated. Firstly I have to get my partner to get one postable for the computer cos im too dumb to do it. Then for some reason we are unable to post - even Taz who had major probs! I will send on to Spooky to post.

I'll give you latest and most tragic pet tales I have.

A few weeks ago I found these two on my doorstep-barely could walk and eyes newly open.

<img src="http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Gro ... 839912.jpg" width="470" height="352">

Kukla

<img src="http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Gro ... 2IMG11.jpg" width="470" height="423">

Othello

I had to use a bottle to give them milk and tried to ween them quickly. After that in the bushes I found what looked like a white mouse:

<img src="http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Gro ... 3IMG23.jpg" width="470" height="352">

Eleanor (will not stand still for a picture)

She was in such wretched condition that I didn't think she's make it. But though she is tiny you can't see her ribs anymore and she's made a pretty full recovery.

Then to top all this drama off-Merrick a few days later:

<img src="http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Gro ... MG0008.jpg" width="470" height="352">

He was dirty, wet and limping. What could I do? So until they get fixed they are mine and probably after-this everybody else and two sick bunnies! I must be mad.

Do you think they're all from the same litter?

Posted: Thu Aug 12, 2004 9:44 am
by lapinsjolis
Yes-I think someone dumped the expectant mother and children may have put Kukla and Othello on my doorstep once they were born. I didn't see the mother before hand though. People tend to dump the female cats if they get in the family way. It's distressing. :cry:

Especially since it's their own damn fault. People, if you don't want adorable baby kittens, spay your damn cats!

LAPINS: They are adorable! Well done for saving them. You sound like me - a real soft touch, I never could resist taking in waifs and strays! Shame I dont live near you id take a couple off your hands.

MOODS: Yep she has a tabby tail and also looks like shes made up of spare parts too! Will try to send a pic to Spooks this evening then we can compare kittys! :D

can't wait to see your lucy, gilli--speck is (or should I say was?) a guy. he can't purr very well and likes to eat dog food.

LJ, good for you, you kitten rescuer, you! speck and his brother socks were also dumpees. my trashy ex-neighbors moved off and left their expectant mom. I'd take Merrick in a heartbeat if I could.

Moody Swung & Gillibeanz-Seeing how well you love your pets and their immense beauty (I'm expectant of Gilli's cat gorgeousness) I'd entrust these cats to your care, if I could. Everyone does not have they same sensibilities with pets. So finding homes could prove tricky. I'm becoming so attached though! By the time they get old enough to spay and neuter they are part of the family.

SoLackLustre- Awwwww. Your kitty that has gone to his reward looks like my Mr. Bingley.

Rope-Adorable pets. Well read too-that could prove dangerous.

Okay, Lapins and all who have been waiting - I present Gilli's cat Lucy, who is wearing her best "bird catching face."

gilli, that's just genetically amazing! speck wears a similar expression when held but with more smartass around the eyes.

Is your cat very vocal Mood? I think Lucy has some siamese in her as she talks all the time - but like your cat you can hardly hear her purr! Do you think maybe they are a certain kind of beed - the similarites are amazing! She was a ferral cat from a farm and we got her at about 8 weeks old from the litter of 5 all of them identically marked but with the splodge in a slightly different place. It took us quite a while to tame her. When shes not trying to catch birds or mice she can be found following the hedgehogs around or sitting in the dark waiting for them to come out (We have a hedgehog nesting box in our garden).

speck meows very very softly and he only seems to do it around 4 am, but it's very effective at waking me up to let him out. His brother is a tuxedo kitty--black with a white bib and paws (LJ has his twin). I've only seen these cats one other place, and we think they were eating them. Kidding, but they did seem to have a herd of kittens and one by one they'd disappear. then another herd six weeks later. We'll designate them a breed--Costello Cats? We don't need no stinking pedigrees...

Gilli-She's lovely and how wonderful about the hedgehogs!

Mood Swung-The offer for the twins to be united still stands.

Living in a tree house? Won't come down? I'd swear I dated him if he wasn't a cat. I'm very lucky and so are the kitties-what a dreadful storm! I hope it's not as bleak as it seems. :(

Well, when DrS and I dropped off our collective children to our respective ex's last evening, my ex shows up with this. No name yet, he just found her in his neighborhood. He had it advertised throughout town but alas, no one has claimed her. He's never seen her around before and believes she might have just been sat out by someone. It's obvious she's not a new puppy, but my ex can probably give her a good life for whatever time she has left.

Jordan especially took it hard about the car crashing in our front yard this week, so he'll probably have a good time with her this weekend. I'll post a name when they decide on one.

My ex had pretty much already decided it without actually letting the boys help, as he had earlier promised. He named her Tybee, after Tybee Island.

They make a nice match, my ex and the dog. Neither talks much. :wink:
