Well, just because they don't sell beer doesn't mean you can't drink beer...

But, no, he didn't.

Great photo! Ye Olde Spookies. Is this how you normally spend your weekends? I love the swordsman behind you. You obviously just weren't born for these times.

No this was our first Renaissance Fair. Spooky has wanted to go for years to one and we just never managed to make it work. She is certainly in true form as the lovely damsel in distress as you can see here. The other is of all of us with the daughter at college replaced by one of th eboys friends.

Yeah, I'm a geek. I'd been wanting to go to one of these for a long time. It was good fun, and the youngest - Justin - brought a friend who was really into it. Their 8th grade class is in the middle of reading Romeo and Juliet so it helped them get in the mood. The boys all really enjoyed it and it helped me pass a few hours waiting for my test results. I'll bore everyone with a few more pics later.

Earlier in this thread-

http://www.elviscostellofans.com/phpBB3 ... &start=450

I shared some photos from May '07 when me 'n my book group went to a member's west of Ireland holiday home for a meeting. We did it again this past weekend and here are some images from this year -

Image
From inside the house , Pluto jumping into shot.

Image
Walking on a nearby beach

Image
Some of the hardier members braving the freezing Atlantic.

A relaxing time was had by all , discussing John McGahern's Amongst Women and eating and drinking to excess. I swam during a trip to Achill Island , the first time I've swum in the Atlantic since 1982, when I swam in it in the far more clement circumstance of the North Carolina shore. It was freezing !

Love the green of those boulders - looks like they were painted for Paddy's day. Sounds like a great reading group. Great choice of book, no? I've had a few good trips to Achill, but have never swum. my first visit was a July picnic in the rain. I love it out there.

As per Spooky's request, prom: From left to right, it's my friend Kara, my boyfriend Sean, me, my cousin Brittany, and my friend Laura. Best picture I had, folks. And keep in mind I'm in 4 inch heels in the pic: I'm actually quite a bit shorter than that.

If more good shots show up, I'll probably edit them in at a later date.

There's one of Sean and I....

And there's one of my whole group.

Thanks pophead. Yeah I did have a safe time, of course. I don't drink, and darn proud of it. :) In bed safe by 1:45 that night.

Nice that you added all the other pictures, StrictTime.

Here's one from last night when my youngest, Justin, graduated from 8th grade at his parochial school.

Lovely pic Spooky. At first glance, Justin looks a bit like our new Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. Please don't take that as an insult!

I loved the fair maiden pics too.

StrictTime - nice pics too. Oh to be young again...

Lovely picture alexv. Your daughter is beautiful. Mind you, you look like a pretty cool guy yourself!

Is the number of empty seats in the background reflective of the number of people in the arena when The Police were playing?

Thanks, VG. To paraphrase John Hiatt, "lucky for her she looks like her mama". The photo was taken just after we arrived at the venue, in time for EC's opening set. As MBA noted, when EC came on the place was practically empty. By the time the Police came on, around 9 pm, everything but some of the pricey seats ($350) down in the orchestra section was taken.

Blue and I went up to a cottage with his family last week - we forgot our camera, so we didn't take many photos, but did have my phone with me on a boat ride out in the lake and snapped a few shots.

Here's Blue & his Dad, looking excited:

And me & my sister-in-law in a sea of curls:

Not too bad for a camera phone.

Got back from my holidays a couple of days ago.
Baltic Sea, good beer by my side, Manchester United towel, and plenty of sunshine.
Me and my family had a great time.

And yes, Polish newspapers also noted the Barack Obama - Britney Spears comparisons.

Lovely pictures Red - and to think you are somehow prettier in real life. No wonder Blue looks so smug

IP - sun, sea, sand, beer- does it get much better? By the way, do Manchester United actually have any fans in Manchester?
