Classic, moody. He looks happy, despite the cast. His teammates probably think he's a god. Gotta love kids.

This one takes some 'splainin'. Since Jess's class graduated in '07, they made lots of class jokes and themes around the 007 movie that came out last year and - hand to God - even had a guy in their class whose last name was Goldfinger. Anyhow, they went around all year long making a gun motion with their fingers. Jess asked us to pose with her like that after graduation and this is what Doc did without us knowing. Smartass.

My book group had it's latest meeting at a members west of Ireland , recently built holiday home last weekend. Geothermal heating etc. Watching the sun set across the bay was like watching a cinema screen.

gorgeous!

My oldest son is supposed to build me a similar structure (with geothermal heat and windmills) when he graduates and becomes Mr. Hotshot Engineer.

Bit of a distance for you to go for the book group! Looks like it was worth it. were you reading A Room With A View? Out of interest, could I ask where that is? Just wondering if it's anywhere near where I have inlaws (in/near Westport), or anywhere else I've visited there.

It is indeed near Westport , just before Achill Island , overlooking Clew Bay. We discussed Winterwood by Pat McCabe which wasn't the miserable-Irish-childhood fest I'd anticipated but a truly fantastic piece of surrealism.

Lovely views, but I'm disappointed by the lack of Foyles in the shots.

Thanks. It certainly reminded me of Clew Bay. I've been there many times now, and to Achill 2 or 3 as well. My wife's uncle was the solicitor involved in the sale of Dorinish to Lennon, if you know that story:

I'm also reading Pat McCabe - Breakfast On Pluto. Mad and hilarious.

I like to stop by this board and check out the photos.

Judging from the W. IRE photo, I am assuming that not much surf rolls through that cove... That board is more like a paddle board than a surf board. What's the H20 temp? I hope you're wearing SB 45+. The roll-up is cool. The photo captures a gulf jet stream moment.. captured in time... How has global warming affected this part of IRE? Is it warmer w/ increased gusts of wind?

Sam, I was in the Tulum area in April-- what a place. I think that beach down below the ruins is about the prettiest I've ever seen.

Here's a wee picture of me.

You mean here?...

Indeed. My kids saw the beach and immediately wanted to go down there and jump in the water. So I took them down and told them not to get their clothes wet. Of course, my little guy proceeds to lay down in waves and get completely soaked and Madeleine got the hem of her sun dress all wet. It was so hot that they had dried completely by the time we got back to the visitor center.

It is a lovely place.

That's the one alright. :D

The view from the water's just as impressive, those cliffs, the ruins... sigh.

Besides the fact that you bear a striking resemblance to some celebrity I cannot place at the moment, the picture, Mech, is a quite intriguing. I wonder what emotion is captured, because the look in the left eye is critical, analytical, and hard, while the right eye is softer, happier, and inquisitive. Was there an intention to capture a certain pose?

Interesting pic.

I needed a head shot a while ago, and of the ones I took I chose this one because it gives the illusion that I possess a chin.

Thanks. To me the interest of a face always does lie in its asymmetries; it's a literally a reflection of what's going on in the brain. We're complicated beasts.
