Locks of Love

I finally cut 10inches off of my hair for a Locks of Love donation. Locks of Love is a nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces for children who have a long-term medical hair loss. If you're interested in doing the same, go to http://www.locksoflove.org - after looking at the before and after photos of the children who recieve the donations, it's hard to not want to do this. It took me about two years to grow it out, and I'll likely do it at least once more.

And because I'm still whirling from my massive hair change, here are my before & after photos :)

(It was blow-dried straight, so it will look pretty different once I let it curl)

You know something, Red? I like the after. You really look great!

I know some kids at my childrens' school who have done this same thing. I don't think they have any idea what a wonderful thing it really is.

Good for you for giving something of yourself like that. It takes everyone to make a difference.

What a lovely thing to do! I also prefer you with the 'after' look . It suits your face and you look very sophisticated - and beautiful too!

I agree wholeheartedly with Gilli.

Thanks, everyone. I like the after too - though I'm very curious to see what it will do when I let it curl up again :)

And I really do urge any of you with long hair to consider this. It's such a great cause.

I think he's getting Red's old locks interwoven into his own!

Hey, I had to sit with her at the salon for an hour

All joking aside though, I think it looks great. Definitely not what I am used to, as I have only known her with long, curly hair, but still, very nice :D

Kudos for a beautiful act of kindness. The short hair is very becoming on you.

oily - were you talking to Blue or Red about the wonderful gesture?

Blue - I think it was a wonderful gesture on your part to sit in the salon for an hour. Mind you, the results were worth it.

Yup, Cope, the other night I awoke in a cold sweat with my old dreads hunched over my face looking mean and obviously seeking revenge.

I went to the hairdressers today and the stupid bint shaved off half off my sideburns.........shit!!!!!!!! I didn't have the heart to throw my toys out of my pram, but things haven't been the same since!

I've gone from 70s cheesy copshow sideburns to half-mast sideburn wannabes in a day...God, I feel less of a man.

I wish I could have at least donated them to charity...by which I mean to say, good for you Red, very kind and your new haircut looks lovely. :D
