100th anniversary of Grand Central Station

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

100th anniversary of Grand Central Station

Post by Jack of All Parades »

I know there may be grander, more impressive edifices in other cities. But this place has always seemed special to me. I have spent so many hours in its tunnels running for trains or waiting for the next one. Secretly, it might be one of my favorite spots in the city. Here is a nice video on its nooks and crannies:

here is a good article on its origins:

Its a cool place for sure. You really get a buzz just being in there, looking up at that clock, knowing the history of all the travelers who have come through there.

Thanks for posting. St. Louis Union Station also has one of those echo-arches and it is eerie. You only have to whisper and it travels all the way up that marble arch, easily 200 ft in total, and down the other side, 50 ft away and its like you are hearing it amplified.
