RIP Amy Winehouse

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

RIP Amy Winehouse

Such tragic news of somebody who was so troubled.

A fantastic voice and a sad loss of a young life.

Quite disturbing, not unexpected- my oldest daughter turned me on to her before the album broke as a hit. Have enjoyed it ever since. But it somehow pales before the senseless, brutal slaughter in Norway.

Somehow it seems more tragic and shocking when it's almost expected. Our hope for her survival couldn't outweigh her own sense of hopelessness. Another massive loss of a beautiful, other-worldy voice.

R.I.P. Amy.

Very true.

Both events are incredibly sad and at opposite ends of the scale. Amy's death was tragic but she had some control over her destiny unlike those in Norway.
