Do you have a fave Beatles album?

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Do you have a fave Beatles album?

Post by Spiritinthesky »

Any Beatles fans?

http://www.thisdayinmusic.com has a poll to find out what is your favourite Beatles album.

Abbey Road has the most votes so far, then The White Album, then Rubber Soul.

Have a look if you fancy a vote.

My fast reaction answer is Revolver. If I can be greedy, it's the White Album.

An unanswerable question for me. Love 'em all. Everything depends on my mood, etc.

Sgt Pepper seems to be top now.

I'm no specialist, but I was looking at the tracklisting of Rubber Soul today and thinking how many great songs there are on it. I have it on original vinyl, and used to play it loads, and it always sounded fantastic. Very hard to pick one that stands out as there significant differences and reasons to vote on over the other. RS would be a happy choice for me.

For me would merge two as they followed one another so closely in time and the songs do meld together for me-"Help" and "Rubber Soul"- to me the two albums marked the emergence of a more mature song writing from Lennon and McCartney and a real discovery of what they could do in the studio as I am relearning listening to the remastered albums.

Agreed Christopher. In my first wave of becoming a Beatlemaniac, I gravitated towards the mid and late period records. These days I have a lot of time for the first two albums. Although everyone loves Lennon/McCartney originals, which are in relatively short supply on these discs, these are both terrific, no frills rock and roll albums. They show from the very beginning the breadth of influences and styles the Beatles would bring to their own later work.

Me too REVOLVER. Also like the cover!

Btw, Italian's most famous singer - she is considered the Queen of all Italian singers as for her voice - MINA did an album MINA CANTA I BEATLES, related to right this cover.

Here we go!

The White Album always seem to find itself in my cd player. One, because it is a double album with so many genres on it. Two, 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'

Im ashamed to say I only own 2 Beatles albums (other than compliations) The White Album and Revolver. I only bought Revolver yesterday. So I wont vote. Gonna buy them all on the remasters now though

I was in Hyde Park as a small child with my mum when the photos for Beatles for Sale were being taken.

I love nearly every song the same, but, to answer this question, I'll say: Rubber Soul.

My 3-year-old's favorite by far, is the Yellow Submarine Songtrack. He can sing along with all the songs, but he counts as high as he can during "When I'm 64", like he does with the movie. Love this kid.
Loving this board since before When I Was Cruel.

Used to be ABBEY ROAD, but these days it's REVOLVER. It follows the same formula they'd reuse for SGT PEPPER, but it has a harder mod-rock edge.

Now I have invested in all the albums except Yellow Submarine. Rubber Soul is my favourite at the moment
