David Bowie - Comeback?

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Cancelled my £11.99 deluxe edition order from Amazon in favour of one for £8.99 from Wow HD. Can't complain!

More links. Bowie's Berlin, explain refs to 'sitting in the Dschungel' etc. from the new song:

And more details here re health, the genesis and recording of the album, how Visconti is giving interviews not Bowie, how the single made Herbie Flowers cry, and how he might yet perform live again. All very exciting:

Finally, finally got to the V&A for the Bowie Is exhibition. Despite it being a warm Sunday evening 7.30pm viewing with slow queues moving around the items, for anyone anywhere near being a Bowie fan, this was overwhelmingly brilliant. Apart from being a very well created exhibition, simply the incredible range of costumes from throughout his career, including the vast majority of Ziggy stage outfits (though sadly with only a creation of the wonderful Ziggy album cover suit, which it turns out was modelled on a 30s sofa pattern, but everything else was original), and loads of handwritten lyrics, inc "Heroes", Ziggy itself and several others from the album, Oh You Pretty Things, etc. etc. was enough to make it an incredible experience. Annoyingly I totally ran out of time. The two hours felt like 20 mins, the sensor-driven audio system was very dodgy and just stopped working after a while, and I didn't even see the koto used on Moss Garden, but there was so much to make it an unforgettable experience, it didn't really matter.

Some great excerpts here, including cocaine spoon used during the Diamond Dogs sessions:

Sadly won't get back for a second viewing, but am going to a special cinema event with a live link-up to the curators and hopefully lots more clips and info. I love Costello, but Bowie was my first love, and he will be my last. He defined culture for me.
