Your Ten Favorite.......Band songs

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Your Ten Favorite.......Band songs

Post by BlueChair »

I seem to remember there being some fans of The Band around here, so I'm hoping my installment of this game doesn't die flat in the water!

1. Daniel and The Sacred Harp
2. Acadian Driftwood
3. Stage Fright
4. The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
5. Whispering Pines
6. Unfaithful Servant
7. This Wheel's On Fire
8. Up On Cripple Creek
9. Rag Mama Rag
10. The Shape I'm In
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

echos myron like a siren
with endurance like the liberty bell
and he tells you of the dreamers
but he's cracked up like the road
and he'd like to lift us up, but we're a very heavy load

That's pretty depressing, Ringhio. Assuming you like those three, I bet there are tons more that you would like if you gave them a chance.

The Band are not talked about enough! For all the praise they get they always seem underappreciated.

Can you name a few?

Not Rag Mama Rag and such, possibly.

Not a country fan I guess.

Start with "Unfaithful Servant" and "Stage Fright" and see how those go

Five years late to this one yet over forty five some years of active listening and do not mind following Wardo:

1 It Makes No Difference
2 This Wheels on Fire
3 Up on Cripple Creek
4 Whispering Pines
5 King Harvest[Has Surely Come]
6 Across the Great Divide
7 The Shape I'm In
8 Stage Fright
9 Bessie Smith
10 Let the Night Fall
11 Going Back to Memphis
12 Don't Do It
13 [I Don't Want To] Hang Up My Rock and Roll Shoes

Yes- most definitely my favorite American band - there is a freshness to their material that never goes stale or sounds dated. And I appreciate the symmetry as this is my 1955 post and also my birth year and my favorite Band.
