RIP Sven Nykvist

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Quite possibly the greatest cinematographer of all time. The films he lensed for Bergman were art in every way and his work was every bit as influential as Greg Toland's collaboration with Welles for Citizen Kane.

Very sad news. He was one of the greatest masters of cinematography.

I was particularly saddened to hear that he suffered from a form of dementia towards the end of his life. Such a cruel and evil thing to have to go through especially when your life's work was helping other great artists create films that have done nothing but inspire and enrich the lives of countless millions.

Just read this. What a huge talent. Sad to see he is gone.
