Pluto has been demoted

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Pluto has been demoted

Post by spooky girlfriend »

The planet, not the dog.

Gee, you turn your back for a minute to do a few errands and a planet loses its good standing. Now there's only 8!

From CNN: Pluto demoted

Leading astronomers have declared that Pluto is no longer a planet, approving new guidelines that downsize the solar system from nine planets to eight. The International Astronomical Union stripped Pluto of the planetary status it has held since its discovery in 1930.

Not too surprising considering it was never much more than a ball of ice. Kind of contrary to reports last week though that said the solar system may increase to 12 or 13 planets.
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

While we're at it; Asia's too crowded, Europe's too old, Africa's far too hot and Canada's too cold.

Yeah tell me about it, I wonder if American Airlines will give me refund?
Preacher was a talkin' there's a sermon he gave,
He said every man's conscience is vile and depraved,
You cannot depend on it to be your guide
When it's you who must keep it satisfied

We should demote a few countries too whilst we're at it.

The most useful bit of information I never learned. And now I don't have to!
Like me, the "g" is silent.

And right-wingers will, of course, continue to reside on Uranus.

Fans of the film Office Space (or opponents of Pluto) may find this amusing. I thought it was hilarious, but then, I'm kind of a dork.

Open the current (August 30) edition and go almost to the end-- at around 18:25. You may have to download it to iTunes unless you want to listen to the whole thing, I'm not sure.
