Give 'em enough Rope...

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Give 'em enough Rope...

Post by sulkygirl »

Just went back to peek at the other board, it appears to have been, for the most part, abandoned...

Was hoping to find an e-mail address for A Rope Leash, but nothing there except his PM, and no link to e-mail on his WebSite.

Has anybody seen/heard from him??
And what about Mr. Average/Dapper Dan??
And so many others who have failed to register here yet...maybe they're all hoping for a Narby-type miracle (as we all are) and are hoping for the best??

I DO miss the Rope's scathing commentary, however...

And, since he's returned (and in fine form), am removing this from STICKY land....

A Rope Leash is not in trouble, I don't think, not any more than usual. He told me he wouldn't post until his sonnet was done.

Remember when I made a haiku thread, and Rope challenged me to write a sonnet? And then I did? Well, I asked for one in return. So I guess this is all my fault, sorry, guys.

Hi. Thanks for your kind words Plaything.

I've been really busy with work and my wedding so I've not been around. I only managed to log back in today and am piecing together what's been happening on the site.

Most importantly I haven't missed any EC tour dates!

Unfortunately I'm not going to be around for another month or so as I'm in Canada and Alaska for my honeymoon. Typically the Canadian legs of the tour don't tie in with the honeymoon.

Thanks again. No doubt things will have changed again next month!!

All the best
VG

Bunny/Plaything - I heard from Gilli - she's alive and well, just busy with her job. She should be back soon. :)

Spooky - I've been meaning to send Gilli an e-mail, just haven't got round to it. Good to hear she's well. Come on Gilli, get postin'!

Verbal - nice to see you've made the jump. I'm aka UBunny by the way. (Just in case you thought a mad person you've never heard of was wondering where you'd got to) Of course, good luck with the wedding on Saturday.

Poppet - you've had your holiday already? Sorry, I have no idea what day or date it is today (The Dude, "This ia a.... What day is this?").

dude, will you STOP changing your name already???? i am so confused!

yes, i have returned from the short holiday (the long one to scotland is cancelled, not enough moolah/time to go around) at the Hellmouth on the Hudson, Hell on Earth, Friar Tuck Spa & Resort in Catskill NY.

NEVER EVER SET FOOT INSIDE THIS PLACE. yup, that bad.

had a magnificent time meeting my yahoogroup buddies, and gawking at my favorite actor from my favorite TV show. it was wonderful.

and we are all lucky to be alive. food poisoning can kill you, ya' know?

i didn't find anyone there who appreciates elvis either. granted, i wasn't looking really hard, but i was keeping my eyes and ears open. if there was elvis appreciation other than my own, it was well hidden. i shoulda' asked my fav actor (Anthony Stewart Head, in case you care), but i just get so tongue tied. fangirl, that's me.

Maybe one day all of us from this site should meet in a big group. You would come, wouldn't you Poppet? :)

Sorry for your bad vacation. Sounds crummy. :(

Fine. We'll make it somewhere else.

No one should have a crummy vacation. It's supposed to be a break away from everything. Especially when you're spending your money and vacation time from work to make it happen.

Any suggestions? :)

As I recall, PlaythingOrPet is a SHE, poppet (or, the artist formerly known as Leah)...

Sulky - I retained my maiden name from the other site - I just needed a new look. :) It shows my sensitive, quiet side.

...well, heck folks, it's good to be back here on the old Elvis Costello message board. I just blew in from Yakima, and boy, is my brain tired!

Is this thing on?

Hey, Sulky, if you like my "scathing commentary", perhaps you would like to see the stuff I hold back...

'Bout time, you lazy ol' bag-a-bones...and if you were in Yakima, I'm sure I would've heard about you on the local news (or police blotter) by now...

Whereabouts

Post by A rope leash »

No, I just said "Yakima" because it's one of those funny towns, like Cucamonga, or Oshkosh, or Kokomo.

Been there, though...

Don't forget Sheboygan.

Hey Poppet, didn't you have a bad experience at Legal Seafood recently?
Maybe you just have a delicate stomach.
