This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

All credit for this one should go to stormwarning, who came up with the idea a couple of months ago but never brought it to life.

Same rules as with Tower of Song and we are limited to five entries each.
The Tower ends January 23rd, 10 p.m. GMT.

Ok, here we go :

All great films, but I'm afraid something is going to have to make way for possibly the greatest film of all time, The Seven Samurai and that will have to be Young Frankenstein (a nice enough comedy, but hardly great).

Seven Samurai - dir. Akira Kurosawa
Rosemary's Baby - Roman Polanski
The Player - Robert Altman
Amarcord - Federico Fellini
Reservoir Dogs - Quentin Tarantino
Hannah And Her Sisters - Woody Allen
Toy Story - John Lasseter
Blue Velvet - David Lynch
Goodfellas - Martin Scorsese
The 400 Blows - François Truffaut

At last!

Blake E. has done a lot better IMO, "A Shot in the Dark" leaves and this list is weighted way too much towards the color era, so....

Seven Samurai - dir. Akira Kurosawa
Chinatown - Roman Polanski
Hud - Martin Ritt
Amarcord - Federico Fellini
To Kill a Mockingbird--Robert Mulligan
Blue Velvet - David Lynch
Goodfellas - Martin Scorsese
The 400 Blows - François Truffaut
Crimes and Misdemeanors - Woody Allen
Only Angels Have Wings -- Howard Hawks

To Kill a Mockingbird--Robert Mulligan

I like Marilyn Monroe as much as any hot blooded man here, but I have to look at her rather than look at the mere name of a movie that reminds me that I'm not.

So that void will be filled by A Streetcar Named Desire.

A Streetcar Named Desire - Elia Kazan
Goodfellas - Martin Scorsese
