Strom Thurmond, Dead at 100

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Strom Thurmond, Dead at 100

Postby SoLikeCandy » Thu Jun 26, 2003 10:03 pm

South Carolina's century-old segregationist, died today. He opposed creating a holiday for Martin Luther King, Jr. He also opposed intergrated U.S. armed forces.

I hope they bury him in a black cemetary.

Allow me to weep for this courageous klansman, errrr, American...good riddance.
A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. Do you think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a fuckin' cross? It's kind of like going up to Jackie Onassis with a rifle pendant on.

Older than dirt, fire, or the wheel. Well past his time to go.

My dad's birthday is today. I called him and asked if Thurmond's death was the best birthday present he could ever wish for. He said yes. But I think he likes the Calexico record I got him, too.

Actually, he supported the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. But it was obviously a ploy to clean up his image and try to not look like the filthy bigot he was.

At the gates of heaven, Strom was surprised that the angel was black, and that the sign said "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone".

Did you know he had a daughter by his black servant back in the twenties? He didn't exactly deny it, either. She lives in L. A. now. The story is at MSN.com right now.

Also, Noise...more crop circles, this time where I used to live, near Suisun City, CA. I don't believe they are all hoaxes, and niether do the scientists that have studied them.

Also, everyone, unemployment is at 6.9% in the USA. That means more money for the shareholder! HOORAY!

As long as we both believe in celestial beings that require faith, I'm pretty happy.
