New Rude Boy (Clash) DVD to be released in the UK in August

For all of you Clash fans, this is an absolute must (for more information and cover art, check this link at DVD Times)...

Fremantle Home Entertainment have announced the UK Region 2 Special Edition DVD release of The Clash - Rude Boy for 25th August 2003 with a retail price of £17.99. Here is a rundown of what you can expect to find on this DVD release.

* Interviews with Rude Boy star and co-writer Ray Gange, co-director and cameraman Jack Hazan, co-director David Mingay and The Clash Road Manager Johnny Green
* Four previously unseen deleted scenes:
- The Royal Yacht Britannia alternative opening credits
- Ray Gange and Joe Strummer chatting on the studio stairs
- Jo Strummer singing in the studio during the recording of "Give ‘Em Enough Rope"
- The Clash in the studio during the recording of "Give ‘Em Enough Rope"

* Original theatrical trailer
* Original radio spot
* 18 mins 13 secs of live footage of The Clash in Munich 1978, featuring seven songs
- London's Burning
- Complete Control
- Hate And War
- Police And Thieves
- The Prisoner
- Janie Jones
- Garageland

* Reproduction of the original 42-page Press Kit Fanzine from 1980
Clash discography with original sleeve artwork (up to 1980, as listed in the fanzine)
* Reproduction of "Breakdown 1978" article and "Comrade Goodbye" article by Charles Shaar Murray from Mojo magazine, March 2003
* Additional scenes of The Clash performing "English Civil War" and "White Riot"
* Sound re-mastered by David Mingay
* 40-page booklet

No word that I am aware of I am afraid... still, it doesn't surprise me as the bare bones Rude Boy DVD that was released about a year and a half ago in the UK never saw the light of day in the US.

Looks like you need to catch up to the rest of us in the free world and invest in a multi-region DVD player :)
