My musical education, thanks to a fairly whacked-out religious upbringing, is full of holes. I know very little of the Beatles, early Dylan, Bowie, the Who, Kinks -- you name, it, my parents probably banned it, or would have if I'd even known it existed. Somehow ABBA slipped through, but that's about it, in terms of quality. ALL THIS TO SAY, this list is a top ten based in my own explorations and may not meet any remotely objective standard of "greatness."

I guess these are always ultimately highly personal anyway. ANYWAY:
