Heard very early this morning of Mr. Bowie's passing. I cannot claim to be the biggest fan; there are board members who honorably hold that distinction. But I do know he has a lasting value in music from the past fifty years. I was enjoying his latest record, out on Friday, the 8th, his 69th birthday, titled Black Star and recorded with a jazz quartet. It had a 'sound' that I was warming to in the past few days. He has a catalog that will last I think and one that is expansive enough to hold the interest of many. Eerie this last single from the new record as he is seemingly filmed in his 'winding' sheets:

His obituary in today's New York Times:

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.
