The equivalent of "King Lear" if it were an essay

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

The equivalent of "King Lear" if it were an essay

Post by Jack of All Parades »

Roger Angell- the dean of all American Sportswriters has recently had this piece published in The New Yorker. For anyone who appreciates prose when wielded by a master this is required reading. One day I will miss his 'voice'. Thankfully that day has yet to arrive:

Thanks for that. Starts with a Candy Cummings reference and ends with, "Holy shit, he's still verticle!" ........and I thought the King Lear analogy would be hyperbole. Just checked my shelves - I only have a very worn paperback copy of Five Seasons - I should revisit that at some point.
Everyone just needs to fuckin’ relax. Smoke more weed, the world is ending.
