To a Ripe Tomato

Post by mood swung »

Tomato, tomato, so round and so red
I wish that you were as big as my head.
I eat you with tuna, with crackers, on bread
for breakfast or dinner, for lunch without dread.

So tasty, so wholesome, so summer is here!
I snub the cucumber and to you I do veer
Your seeds and your jelly, I never will fear
Your skin is a promise I do hold so dear

Tomato, tomato, my taste buds you wed
I'll love you, my beauty, until I am dead.

Mood I love that poem! It sums it up for me perfectly - I have a tomato fetish! I eat one every single day and if they are cherry ones about 10 a day!! I get withdrawal symptoms if I run out

Oh hail the mighty tomato
For me you must be firm
Should you be soft and pappy
You'd really make me squirm

I love you draped on anything
I love you in your skin
I love you in your fresh state
And I love you in a tin

I couldn't live without you
To me you are the best
Give me the mighty tomato
And you can keep the rest
COME ON YOU SPURS!!

you're making me hungry, Gilli.

The classic BLT: layer slices of tomato with onion and refrigerate for 12 hours. Fry bacon. Toast white bread. Slather with mayo. layer lettuce, tomato, bacon to your liking. Throw onion away.

Tomato You Say?

Post by yarnspinner »

There once was a tomato so ripe
Served hot on the side with some tripe
Its appeal wasn't much
(Shades of vomit and such):
Still... a pabulum-inspiring type!
