The Cruisin Boozin Part Time Losin...help me write this song

Post by bambooneedle »

I'm gittin' a bit rusty...

---

Revin' past the station
going on the green
havin' a libation
in my draggin' machine

Fats girls on the corner
Standing in a bunch
They're wearing belly shirts
I almost loose my lunch
I'd never leave the house if I had a Gimp

Not bad Cope, but remember, the guy in question feels like dyn-o-mite (cos he's a super cool part-time loser)... it would take a lot for him to lose his lunch in his draggin' machine.

Throwing it through backstreets
sideways in the wet n' I know
Laura's at the cheap eats
with this full moon glowing low

pulls his cap down low
pushed through the screen door
shoots a snap and wink to Flo

Ah ok well then

sits next to a girl
reminds him of his favorite pig
but she loses weight and grows more teeth
with each and every swig

I'm changing the rhyme scheme again...

We're rollin in the mud
and tongues are lapping
She landed with a thud
I laughed almost cried a trace

CHORUS

It was the boozin cruisin part-time losin
that ah got in my veins...
When I get out, outta my cage
I gotta get loose and get to the rage

I'm cruisin
I'm boozin
I'm part-time losin

so then I win

On the sherriffs polished shoes
Smellin' like a combo

She was drinkin water behind him a lot
outta the hose cos she'd been a-skippin'
as a sherrif's daugher Liz-Phair-hot
and most right for the pickin'

wearing something less than pants
and a bandana for a top
as she bent down he felt
his eyes and trousers start to pop

A new narrator, interesting...

The paper reported like that
the sherrif didn't headbutt his knuckles
he didn't slip and land on his back
in the non-existent scuffle

CHORUS

It was the boozin cruisin part-time losin
that ah got in my veins...
When I get out, outta my cage
I gotta get loose and turn the page

I'm cruisin
I'm boozin
and part-time losin

but sometimes I just lose

So you can celebrate? 8)

Anybody is welcome to have a go at ending it or steering it towards the end.

Just a typical day boozin in the coast breeze
to cruise to the palm tree strip on rod night
ready to gamble cos I'm a-chillin' at ease
the stakes might turn on to different degrees

the boozin, cruisin, part-time losin'
the cruisin, part time losin' boozin'
the part-time losin' boozin' cruisin' (verse repeats to fade with *, ^ & " in between)

* can't escape
^ don't wanna shake
" until I die

That'll do. Thanks, Cope & Crash. And thanks for the moral support Spooks. Any chance of you doing anything with it Crash?

could be. what do you want it to sound like? the rhyming will be a challange

I am currently working on one new song and also recording some mixes of a song a friend of mine wrote. She is putting together a single of her song and the mixes of some of her friends to sell and donating all the money from the cd to breast cancer research in conjunction with the 39 mile walk she does in Chicago each year. If anyone is interested in helping her out I could post a link or something.

Just thought I'd be nice and throw that out for her.

thanks

Crash, why not post that link here anyway. I was kind of joking about the rhyming, I didn't really think that or the phrasing through much and think that what I wrote could be improved a lot. You could chop and change it around and make it sound any way that you would feel like.

Boo, this is a great song. Are you thinking of a career in country music now? You should come to the south. I bet you would look wonderful in a cowboy hat. 8)

Its a great cause and Kitty is a really great person.
I will post it in a more conspicuous place as well. Hope nobody minds.

I will mess around with the song for fun and when I am done I will get bamboo's address and mail a cd.

thanks
