Mea Culpa

Post by pip_52 »

I am to blame

I am everything
that is wrong in the world
(and you cant stop watching)
I am everything
that you never dream youll be

I am to blame

I am everything
that is evil, corrupt, selfish, unforgiving
. . . unforgiveable
I am everything
that shame is made for

I am to blame

I am everything
that does not belong
I am everything
that hurts, lies, steals and betrays
I am everything
that is untrue, unpure, untellable

I am everything
that you cant admit you are

I had a dream, and you were in it!

You drove me somewhere. I was walking the mean streets of some weird city, and at an intersection I saw a car with the license plate number "pip_252". I knocked on the window and you unlocked the door.

Thennn, somehow the car was a phone, and you were at work(you looked after kids through a window).

It was interesting.

Pip, that's very good. It's like the human conscience talking to itself, and like it always does, trying to justify itself. It brings to mind Elvis' "Deep Dark Truthful Mirror" but on an even darker level. Nice work indeed.

Very interesting Pip!

Also eerily similar to (though I'm sure not pilfered from) page 120 of the Kurt Cobain journals.

If you don't have it, head to a Barnes and Nobles and check it out. I think you'll see how disturbing the parallels are. You're in good company.

I'd transcribe it here, but I'm drunk again, alas!

Nothing else to do so here it goes:

"I started it first
I started it first
It was me
me
Im the one
I was the originator
Ill take the blame
me
it was me
I was the instigator
the grandfather
the first and foremost
I was doin it long
before anyone
It was me
Ill take all the blame
Ill take full responsibilty
my fault
I started it all
I started it first
me
Im the one
Blame me
Point the finger at me
Heres my receipt
Where do I sign?
Give me whats owed to me
Give me whats rightfully mine
Give me what i deserve"

Anxious to hear what you think Pip!

But first please put down the needle and head to a Methadone clinic immediately!

good grief. i wrote a poem too.

Post by Poppet »

i really did. it's been a really really long time. i think it's kinda crap, but there's a teensy bit that hits the mark. don't care to rework it.

a gift for you all, my first poem in a billion years.

inspired by pip, clarequilty, this past week's personal insanity, and part of a bottle of riesling.

the evil part of me

the evil part of me
hides away

because i tell it to.

not just tell, but rather, deny its existence.
i’m not evil
i’m good.
i am kind, i love my friends.
but the evil remains

hidden.

sometimes i want to let it run free
flow thru my veins, become my blood and flesh.
destroy and maim for the joy of creation;
the creation of destruction.

is it evil?
to want to speak when speaking feels good?
is feeling good wrong?

i hide. i wrap myself in platitudes.
they are my blankets. i am warm and snug here.
and evil remains, hidden.
... name the stars and constellations,
count the cars and watch the seasons....

Beautiful Poppet.

But don't "blame" me for your inspiration. I was recycling Kurt Cobain's words (see my post prior to the Cobain excerpt).

Take care and be sure to finish that bottle of Reisling. It's the only white wine I enjoy.

Gotta be careful with that devil Riesling. You'll end up in a giant bunny suit every time.

and a giant bunny suit makes me think of Anya, from Buffy - she's terrified of bunnies, so when told about halloween (she's a demon who has become a human, very Buffy) that she's supposed to dress as something scary, she rents a furry white bunny suit. poor thing.

notice my first thoughts do not turn to Harvey.

and, i love jimmy stewart. *sigh*

and of course i finished the bottle of riesling. also, i love gewurtz. yummy.
