Collins Center for the Arts
Event added: ELVIS COSTELLO - November 19th @ 7pm. Tickets on sale August 9th
The show is not yet listed on the venue's own site.

The Bangor Daily News calls it "an acoustic performance by Elvis Costello," which probably means a solo show.

A audio at that link is for a ' March 2' show in the 'Greek Theater'. Unless that's a mock up to be used as a generic with other dates dropped into the soundtrack, perhaps Elvis really has scheduled a show at that LA venue for next year. I couldn't get the video to play.

I could get the video to play. It is footage and audio of EC playing the Montreux Jazz Festival with the Sugarcanes in July 2010: http://www.elviscostello.info/wiki/inde ... 3_Montreux. More detail on the recording of that show is here: http://www.elviscostellofans.com/phpBB2 ... f=2&t=8259

Otherwise, as you say, this is just a mock up with an option for whoever wants to use this to drop in their venue and date and ticket sales details and for this to be changed in the voiceover. The way tickets for the solo tour are selling, this may not be necessary.

Sure, rub it in east coasters. Is it just me or does he really open up the playlists on the east coast compared to the west coast? All the more reason to have these live shows streamed as a premium through his website. Totally would pay for it. In fact, wouldn't it be really cool if you could select book a live session for a dinner party - serious cash for that no doubt, but there is so much money - particularly in the Bay Area - that this kind of single live session thing would work. Cashola and no one has to leave their homes to experience it. Ok, sorry, off on a tangent again. Spaz, spaz, spaz. MOJO

It was an excellent show.

Very different venue than the old theatres he's been playing--this was a very modern and new performing arts center on the campus of university of Maine, way up north in Bangor Maine (which served for a few elvis witty comments, including a Roger Miller song reference to Bangor...)

He has continued his good humor, excellent voice (night 3 in 3 back-to-back-to-back nights) and really nice guitar playing--esp on beyond belief...

The WUG songs were cherry on top...he had me from "he thought he was the King of America..."

Another excellent show on this terrific tour

To mojo's comment--a box set similar to 1996 Costello/Nieve (or the recent year grateful dead tour releases) would be a worthwhile release

Whoa - I didn't read the post above before posting my note. Bizarre, man. Need to check that out further. Typing from an iPhone right now. Zero attention span. Lovely. That private session thing is a hot idea - cash wise!!!! Save time on commuting to the show and everyone can drink up because no one is driving. It could work, but only with solo acts. I'll shut up now.

Ok, just checked out the link to Bill Young Productions. Low Budge and not live. What's the price point that would make this biz model work - I wonder. Would have to be a SaaS offering to scale many artists to many consumers.

Am I am idiot? I always default to that because I know who I am, but really does this service exist - on-demand, yes
Live, book by calendar, select artist, select # of songs, size of party, etc... Hmm could be cool or maybe not profitable, but where is the profit with twitter - and its - what $4B valuation? Same with that douche from SnapChat who turned down $3B buyout. Ok, really, last post from me for a rong time, oh so sorry, long time.

Yes!!' Also more formats, better, bigger reach! Squeeze sets up a shop after their shows and burns a copy of the performance. Sort of cool as long as the audio is decent. Paid $20 for a burned copy of Glenn T. live - that's not too shabby. If you have 20-30 purchases per gig that's gas/food money, really. Cash in pocket is always good. Tax free - better!

I'm sure I've suggested Elvis did this in the past - my wife saw Deacon Blue (of all bands ) in about 2006 and they did exactly the same only for about £9 !! with a generic booklet and just different dates on the cover.
Elvis must be aware of how fanatical about live performances a lot of people here are and I'd fork out for original CDrs (much like buying Transcription records in the past !)

Hall and Oates did the same thing (sold cds of their show) following a performance at UCLA. It was a great way for them to make $, the sound quality was excellent and the convenience was wonderful. Sulky and BA, you would never be the bad guys!

The Who also sold CDs of their shows on their Wire and Glass tour. Fan-fricking-tastic
