For the first time in Northern Norway! Legend and international star Elvis Costello is coming to Bodø and Nordland Music Festival on 2 August. Costello is known for his fabulous live performances, and we look forward to welcoming him to Bodø Spektrum.
- Elvis Costello is a major artist who has managed to be innovative in over 30 years. He has written music in many genres, from rock to ballet and classical music. He's a great live performer, and we are very proud to present him, for the first time in northern Norway, at Nordland Music Festival, says director André Wallann Larsen.
Costello is known for operating in different genres like rock, new wave, jazz, punk, blues and country. And he does so with style. Through his long career, he has released dozens of records, won several awards and worked with artists such as Paul McCartney, Sting, Burt Bacharach, Anne-Sofie von Otter, Bill Frisell, Brian Eno, Brodsky Quartet and not least, this year's festival profile at Nordland Music Festival, Svante Henryson. In 2003 he was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2004 he found himself on Rolling Stone's list of the greatest artists of all times. Many associate Costello with the mega-hit She from the film Notting Hill, but he is also known for hits like Oliver's Army, Shipbuilding, Veronica, (I Do not Want to Go) Chelsea and Watching the Detectives.
