The Way They Were

Post by Jocko Wainwright »

I found this on the esteemed Tubes of You this morning. It's a compilation of punk and New Wave performances that originally aired on Granada television from 1976 to 1978. EC makes a couple of appearances.

Thanks - it's way more effective than all that revisionist crap on BBC4 a while back and none of the tiresome arty cross cutting etc.

Big thanks from me too.

We were very lucky in Granada Land to have Tony Wilson getting these acts airtime.

Think it was Elvis' solo appearance on "Whats On" that got me hooked...

You are all very welcome. I tipped off the folks at the Dangerous Minds blog about the video and one of them wrote a post about it that provides a bit of context.
