Elvis Costello... The Man and his attires
I know this is stupid but I am so fascinated with the off-beat, eccentric style of the man. Please, for my own sick pleasure, post pictures of his most odd attires you've seen !
It's not the days when you leave me, but all I fear are the nights.

I don't kow about you, but my wife wouldn't allow me out of the house with some of EC's shirt & tie combinations.

Some of the combinations are less "Voice in the dark" and more like "Dressed in the dark".Mikeh wrote:I don't kow about you, but my wife wouldn't allow me out of the house with some of EC's shirt & tie combinations.

Even privately you'd be hard pushed to get away with the silver cowboy boots which he wore for about 100 nights in a row

LOL I love his outfits! The "golden" suit is my favorite.
In the Live in Memphis DVD extras there's a scene of him buying a blue shirt. He seems to look for the most ugly shirt colour in the whole shop.

I'll inflict more sartorial images when I get a chance but this one from 1983 just has to go here now !

The first photo has always seemed to work as an ensemble but that second picture is a 'horror' show. Perhaps it is the smile in the second which is more of a leer to my mind. I have always appreciated that he was not afraid to bare his receding hair line at that time.

It looks like the 80s vomited on that sweater.

The sweater is even better when combined with white bagge throusers.... as showcased on Swedish TV.

That is just too 80's 'shabby'- as my wife reminds me that might have been in my closet at the time!krm wrote:The sweater is even better when combined with white bagge throusers.... as showcased on Swedish TV.
