Glad you liked it. I loved it too. That was one of the highlights of the night. It was such surprising rendition.

Guys, I'm sorry to say that the concert will have to wait. I uploaded prematurely and messed up the torrent so I'm locked out by dime from uploading until it seeds which unfortunately won't happen on my end. I'm heading to Jacksonville today and won't be back until Sunday so i might not be able to have the shows up until next week. But by then, it will hopefully be three shows.

strangerinthehouse wrote:I don't think that's quite how it happened. Elvis was beginning to sing off-Mic as he usually does on these quieter songs when the loudmouth began to yell something about "All You Need Is Love." EC just kept going, pausing a bit as the audience told the dude to shut up, who then replied "I LIKE JOHN LENNON." Eventually he quieted down and EC managed to finish out the song.

There were some bad vibes in that audience. Some lady tried to interrupt him again later and a guy in the very first row was escorted by police at one point. I saw him talk to the ushers at one point when all of a sudden they came by and snatched him up.
The excerpt from the Steve Hoffman Forum was mine. I think your point is correct that EC was already singing off mic when the guy started yelling, but I definitely confused the issue with my account. What struck me, and what I was trying to convey, was that the audience became astoundingly silent during the performance, not specifically that he was doing this to quiet the heckler (or whatever he was).

I did see the guy getting escorted out from the show by the police. My friend joked, "that's what you get for standing!"
strangerinthehouse wrote:I was hoping the audience had been more lively but they sat down through most of the show, although they gave EC a standing ovation after each song.
I personally hate getting in the way of people trying to see, so I tried to avoid standing. At one point, I turned to my friend who went to the show with me and said, "I guess we ended up in front of some people who don't like to stand." He looked at me funny and said, "I think they're paraplegics - they can't stand." I got so embarrassed that I hadn't looked that closely - we were indeed in front of a wheelchair row.
strangerinthehouse wrote:After the show, me and my friend stood near the buses, behind a small chain link fence, hoping to get something signed. When he came out, my friend said something about the audience not standing up and EC just brushed off saying something about he expects it in these type of places.

He signed my copy of This Year's Model.
Hey, there! I asked you about your record - I was wondering if it was an original, not knowing if they reprinted any with the offset "mistake" in a more recent edition. Elvis signed my program and I got to shake his hand as well.

I can't wait for others to hear the shows. After years of listening to all the shows i missed (Looking at you new york) I had to give something back.

I remember you. I was really glad he came out to sign stuff. I thought about it after the Jacksonville show but there were way too many people. it was the original. I think the mobile fidelity reissue has the offset "mistake" but it also has a huge mobile fidelity banner on the top, which ruined it for me. Glad you came to the show. Hopefully he'll come back to Florida soon.
