Couldn't Call it Unexpected 4 / Rainbow Connection

I was showing "Couldn't Call it Unexpected" to a friend a few days ago (the Live by Request performance) and she got strangely quiet. I asked her what was wrong, she said "I really like it. It's beautiful. I just... it reminds me of something else... I'm trying to place it."

After a couple of minutes, she went "AHA!!!", pushed me out of the chair and went on Youtube and pulled the video to the Muppets song "Rainbow Connection".




The melodic similarity isn't terribly strong, but since then I can't listen to "Couldn't Call it Unexpected No.4" without thinking of Kermit the Frog singing "why are there so many songs about rainbows?".

Hahahaha! That's Awesome! I can totally picture Elvis singing it, too...maybe a bit added into CCIU4, as he does with Alison/Suspicious Minds...

Saw the new Muppets movie today with my little brother and couldn't help thinking of this and chuckling
