Fantastic

If I had the time I'd write my own version. And also if I had the humour.

I should clarify that, humorous as they are, all of these packages are 100% real and in fact the $10,000 set and one of the $7500 sets have already been sold.

My favorite one is "Copy of Josh's 5th Grade Report Card." That's classic.

And I like that he misspelled "ditty."

He didn't misspell. Sean Combs will be writing the song.

This is amusing stuff, and also a pretty clever way to crack the nut of how to make a living in a decimated music business. The great insight here is that fans will pay for access to their musical heroes. You can imagine all sorts of variations. The downside is that one is reminded of Dylan's assertion that performers are one step above prostitution - and that's why I doubt EC will ever do anything like this.

Whilst I agree Elvis won't take it to the same extremes, we've already seen this to a degree with the National Ransom and Revolver tour packages haven't we? T shirts, signed lithographs, pricey limited editions...

Yeah, but that stuff is a no brainer requiring relatively little of EC. What's interesting here is the scenario of the singer giving you a call, meeting you for lunch, etc., etc.. I could see EC doing these things once or twice as a lark associated a promo of some sort, but not as a direct service rendered for payment - and especially not as a reward for buying his album

When I clicked on the thread, I wondered if it would be about Josh Freese. I think it's great.

Some of these are just absurdly funny. "Make Josh's new record for him."

"Go get matching outfits from Tommy Bahama and make everybody very sad."

"Signed photo (can't promise what the photo will be, but it will be signed."

If you've never seen Freese play the drums, he's one of the best in the world. The Vandals have a live DVD where one of the special features is you can watch the entire show with the camera affixed on Freese (picture-in-picture of his feet). It's quite entertaining.

Elvis and I usually meet up prior to his album release to chew the fat over lyrics. I say to him "Elvis - great songs but I still haven't got a clue what Luxembourg is about". He says "Fear not VG, it will come to you one day..."

Sulky - who was talking of prostitution :?

If we meet Elvis in Amsterdam I think I'll ask for a Songbook Tour season ticket. Free, of course.

I think the UK tour has now put a stop to any chance of me buying the Super Deluxe Revolver set.
