Second night of a 3 night run. I won't be there, but looking forward to reading good reports and hearing an analog recording as well.

There's at least one new song on the wheel: "Riot Act."

Elvis just brought Stanford from sex and the city to spin the wheel and it "landed" on so like candy, perhaps for Candace Bushnell?

More from Twitter:
Elvis just brought Tennessee Thomas on stage to play drums and it made me remember how cool the @rachelantonoff fashion show was..
Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys just joined Elvis Costello on stage. What a throwback.
This guy has tweeted what looks like most of the show so far:

http://twitter.com/#!/liverpooljpgr
EC at the becon walk in and he is playing mystery dance. Going to be good. Now radio radio
First spin results in vote off. Hoover factory vs detectives. Detectives won in a landslide.
Second spin = time theme. First song is clown time is over from get happy!! Awesome
After a mellow clown time they do a fired up version of strict time into man out of time. Head about to explode
You drink yourself insensitive and have yourself in the morning #elvisatthebeacon
Baby your out of time. Not as familiar with this one.
Two more spins
First was a great olivers army second he overode for a solo version of a slow drag with josephine.
Two great king of america tracks: america without tears and little palaces
Candy theme: so like candy into please dont let me be misunderstood and then all grown up
Turpentine. First one that is new to me. Double drums though
Another from blood and chocolate: uncomplicated.
Wow. Lipstick vogue with alex turner from arctic monkeys followed by an charged up version of waiting for the end of the world
An amazg chelsea followed by an intense i want you. Not leaving much on the table tonight

Elvis Costello slew tonight at The Beacon Theater! Three encores! Finished the night with Pump It Up into Peace, Love & Understanding!
But not before an awesome rendition of Alison/Tracks of My Tears/Suspicious Minds... did I mention he blew away a cover of Purple Rain?

In this case I did it, but others may have been responsible in the past. I hope it's correct now.

I'm sure there are some downsides to living in NYC, but you guys have the most incredible good fortune in concerts. What's this - four full EC gigs in two months?

Thanks for the setlist. Was trying to piece it together in my mind on the long train ride home. All Grown Up was awesome, but a special word of praise for So Like Candy, I Want You and a fantastic Chelsea. Also loved the Bible Code Sundays mini-set. BTW Arctic Monkeys singer is Alex Turner.

A great show!

My only complaint is that Elvis broke my heart TWICE with "Detectives vs. Hoover Factory."

The audience vote obviously went to Detectives, but Hoover Factory was competitive enough in terms of audience response that I had truly hoped he might play BOTH.

But THEN, when the next spin ALSO landed on "Detectives vs. Hoover Factory" a few minutes later, rather than taking it as a sign that he ought to now play Hoover Factory, he leaned on the wheel and moved it to "Oliver's Army" instead.

From then on, he pretty much dictated the outcome of all the spins! It was funny, and a terrific show, but super-heartbreaking to come SO close to "Hoover Factory" TWICE and not have him play it....
