I'm putting this together as a torrent for Demonoid. It's pretty much every interview and song played during EC's 2010 promotional tour for NR. I used the EC Wiki gigography pages as a guide. For those interested, please let me know if I missed anything and I'll try to get it. Thanks.

"Paying Off The National Ransom" - The mp3 Compilation

An audio compilation of almost all known 2010 promotional appearances for the
double LP "National Ransom". I started this project as a DVD compilation that
included many TV and webcast performances:

I broadened it out to include all audio from the many interviews and radio-only
performances by Elvis during this 7 week period. Impressive list, no? The man worked
hard, but while the album was an artistic success (IMHO) it was a commercial failure.
According to EC, this may have been his last conventional studio album. We'll see...

Audio extracted from webcasts, FM broadcasts and TV recordings. Most are 128 kbps.
If you need more info about lineage, just PM me because there's too much to list here.

my sincere thanks as well. seven weeks, eh? in retrospect, I still feel extremely ambivalent about all this...great cd, great band, great new adventures and reworkings of older material, me incorrectly expecting/hoping that this would be a seam that could be tapped deeper and deeper, and, in the end, thud. makes the revolving wheel seem far too clownish and desperate (but only in theory and from a distance...haven't been to see it, hasn't been and won't be anywhere near here. . .this is all just a dreamt mood, like a freighter off Tangiers--what became of him, have you seen any signs? He's been spotted in an oldies show, belovedly entertaining and trying not to succumb to the grief over what has just happened).

expecting anything else in terms of "popular appeal" and sales was simply foolish, i know, but there is something about this particular success/failure that hit me far harder than previous ones--a feeling befitting the troubled and tragic character of the cd itself in places. In retro., the Jimmie/Elvis jokes. . .ah well!

i've had troubles watching the videos from this brief time, and i'm looking forward and a wee bit dreading listening to these mp3s, because my love got out of hand, i guess.

Just listening through and comparing to my files. I notice that the Simon Mayo show is missing the interview sections. I received this recently in a trade. Recording has a slight high end crackle, but the interview is more than listenable. I've included the full show including the 2 songs because the track editing is different. But for those who want to hear the full interview...

That's a problem. Most tapers do not want their recordings converted from lossless (FLAC) to lossy (mp3) except for private use. For me and ba, we don't mind, and I've started the process by putting the mp3 links in the concert threads on our Forum board. I'm not sure what you're asking. Everything is digital, technically, unless it's on magnetic tape or vinyl (or wax back in the olden days). Are you looking for a CD format?
