Looking through my ticket collection, I notice that tomorrow is the 31st anniversary of my first Elvis concert (9/11/84 Harrogate), and 42 years ago last night, my brother went to see Manfred Mann's Earthband supported by Brinsley Schwartz (7/11/73). EC regularly seeing the Brinsley's about the same time!

I am now listening to the recording of the Harrogate show from 31 years ago today. Can I send a big thank you to everyone who has ever recorded an EC show. It is a magical experience to relive a gig I was at so long ago.
I know Cocktail Murderess was there!!

The new Mojo has Elvis's favourite disc of 2015 - Five Days Married & Other Laments, a collection of Greek & Albanian dance music 'assembled from rare 78 rpms from the late 20s'. Of course!

A new Lush box set includes their cover of All This Useless Beauty.

It first appeared on a edition of Elvis's single Distorted Angel (July 1996)

Steven Soderbergh has read Elvis's book & listened to a lot of EC albums last year.

'In addition to being ridiculously prolific, somehow Steven Soderbergh still manages to find time to watch a whole lot of movies and television, and read some books too. As he did last year, Steven Soderbergh has listed everything he watched and read in 2015 and capped it off with a list of vinyl records that spun on his turntable. As always, it's fascinating stuff.'

The prolific screenwriter-director also used the TCA platform to stress the authenticity of Roadies. Multiple times during the panel, he noted that several characters or plot points included in the series are based on true stories -- and legends -- that exist within the music industry. A story in the pilot about a pianist who flips out when there are fingerprints on his piano, he said, is based on Freddie Mercury, while co-star Peter Cambor's guitar tech is based on Elvis Costello.

The guitar tech character , based on Elvis , is called.....Milo.

Hard Rock Cafe , Dubai

Their website doesn't highlight it in their memorabilia section - http://www.hardrock.com/cafes/dubai/memorabilia.aspx

Bruce confirms it - http://www.brucethomas.co.uk/?p=2667

Apparently, this has turned up in the Dubai Hard Rock Café. I only ever used it for posing on TV and bought it because it looked so cool. I got it off a guy who lived in a trailer in St, Pete, Florida for 180 bucks. I think Jack Bruce used one on the Cream revival shows in 2005.

Seeing as it was on ITV4 I am guessing it is a repeat but one of the questions on The Chase was which rock stars father wrote and sang the 'i'm a secret lemonade drinker advert'?

Not sure Elvis has been a quiz question on main stream TV in the uk. Although I am guessing someone will know better.

It was a celebrity edition and Keith Chegwin got the answer right. Sister Janice is a big Costello fan
