The First Round Draw of the Elvis Cup has been made !!
The following is the draw for the first round of the Elvis Costello Cup.
The Matches will be played in the week commencing the 21st September.
Each match will be polled for five days and the winners placed in the hat for the last 16 the following week. So on and so on until we reach the final two big boys in an epic EC cup final (or Superbowl for our US friends or All Ireland Hurling Final or canadian Ice Hockey finals or Aussie Rules thing etc etc etc) Anyway...you get the idea.
The draw produced a few interesting ties for the minnows in the competition, who seemed to draw each other. Its hard to see 'Elvis Live Bootleg' going any further. Some of the big fishes and blue chips have tough draws. Favourite, TYM is drawn away to Armed Forces and Brutal Youth could well give B&C a run for it's money. There are some very even matches that could go either way, such as MAIT against KOA.
The full draw is:
Imperial Bedroom V All This Useless Beauty
Get Happy!! V Spike
My Aim Is True V King of America
Blood and Chocolate V Brutal Youth
Armed Forces V This Year's Model
When I Was Cruel V Kojak Variety
Trust V Painted From Memory
Out of Our Idiot v Deep Dead Blue
Almost Blue V Mad about the Wrong Boy (Attractions)
North V Goodbye Cruel World
Taking Liberties (10&10) V Any Elvis Live Bootleg in your collection
Live at the El Mocambo v For The Stars
EC/SN Box Set V Mighty Like a Rose
GBH Soundtrack v The Juliet Letters
Cruel Smile
Punch The Clock Byes to the next round
In case anyone was wondering......yes...I am quite mad.

The odds are in and the favourite has been ousted on account of the tough first rd draw against Armed Forces.
I intend to have £10 each way (Show) on WIWC. It has some recent form and has a good draw. Odds of 20/1 are generous.
Evens - Imperial Bedroom
15/8 - Get Happy
3/1 - TYM
5/1 - KOA
10/1 - B&C
12/1 - Trust
16/1 - Armed Forces
20/1 - WIWC and Brutal Youth
25/1 - PTC and Taking Liberties and EC/SN Box Set
33/1 - Spike and Mighty Like a Rose
33/1 - MAIT
40/1 - PFM
50/1 - ATUB
66/1 - North and TJL
100/1 - Out of Our Idiot
100/1 - GCW
150/1 - Almost Blue
200/1 - Kojak Variety and Cruel Smile
