Elvis / Knocked Up/ Judd Apatow

Leg Man Open To Offers posts elsewhere -

I went to see Knocked Up last night. The part where Allison calls Ben to talk to him about being pregnant, look behind her to the framed pictures on the wall. Our man Elvis is prominently seen across her left shoulder. He is seen a second time a few seconds later. Very easy to spot.

I thought of the coincedence of having a main character named Allison was funny. Cool I stayed for credits to check the spelling, it was with double Ls.

By the way, the flic was pretty funny. Two thumbs up.

A profile of the film's writer/director Judd Apatow tells us -

In 1991, at a taping of an Elvis Costello MTV Unplugged concert, Apatow was introduced to a little-known actor, Ben Stiller, who was trying to launch a TV sketch-comedy show. With no experience in TV, Apatow found himself executive-producing the series. ''We were all winging it,'' says Stiller. ''But Judd was tenacious. He knew he couldn't let the network and studio dilute what we were doing.'' When the show was canceled, Apatow landed a job writing and coexec-producing for The Larry Sanders Show and his reputation continued to spread.

Five songs that mean a lot to me:

"Trouble," Cat Stevens
"A Father and a Son," Loudon Wainwright
"I Want You," Elvis Costello
"I Got You," Stone Temple Pilots
"The Wind," Warren Zevon

Buy Loudon Wainwright III's wonderful soundtrack when it's released tomorrow, good people! It's called Strange Weirdos and is a collaboration with Joe Henry: a trademark of quality if there ever was one. I especially recommend the cover of Peter Blegvad's "Daughter", the LW/JH "You Can't Fail Me Now" and the Loudo original "Grey In LA".
What this world needs is more silly men.
