A band called Elastic No-No Band has recorded quite a lot of Elvis' covers, including one whole album titled Every Elvis Has His Army : ENB Does EC.

Link to mp3's here :

So I come in to the office this morning, and lying there on my desk - courtesy of First Canadian Place - is a JPMorgan sunscreen (a curious choice of swag for -30C weather), some Goldman Sachs pens, and a CD from an Ingrid Lucia - titled Almost Blue.
The title track is on her site: http://www.ingridlucia.com

And, the other night CBC's After Hours played yet another version - this time by Vancouver vocalist Laura Crema, from an album called - surprise! - Almost Blue.

From listserv-

So I made mention a little bit ago about an EP of Elvis Costello covers I
was doing called EVERY ELVIS HAS HIS IMPERSONATORS.

Well, the darn thing is done and ready to download.

You can get it in the States from Amazon at

http://www.amazon.com/Every-Elvis-Has-H ... B001NGUUOQ

You can get it worldwide from iTunes at
http://www.itunes.com/elasticno-noband (I believe that link will work for
everyone... otherwise, just look up my band Elastic No-No Band)

Or, most cheaply, if you want all 7 songs, you can get it worldwide from CD
Baby for US$3.99 at
http://cdbaby.com/cd/elasticnono5

I'm really pleased with it, and I feel like some Elvis Costello fans like
yourselves would appreciate my sometimes simultaneously reverent and
irreverent takes on these songs.

Here are the tracks:
1. Pump It Up - this is a remastering of the multi-tracked a cappella
version I submitted to the list's tribute album a couple years ago
2. You Belong To Me - I think I was kind of inspired on this one and on
"High Fidelity" by Dump's really lo-fi, noisy Prince covers. Hence: noisy
and lo-fi
3. Monkey To Man - this is the simple, acoustic version I gave John Harrison
for his EC covers website a couple years ago.
4. Battered Old Bird - I was recording this in my bathroom for the echo, and
then I thought -- why not just sing this while taking a shower? So I did.
5. Toledo - I am from Toledo, Ohio; that has nothing to do with why I
decided to turn this into electro dance-pop, but I thought you might like to
know.
6. High Fidelity - In low fidelity, natch.
7. I Want You - I mutated it into dubby trip-hop, and I like how it came
out.

Hope you listen, and hope you like 'em.

Thanks,
Justin Remer
(of Elastic No-No Band)
