I saw this thread and ran to the rescue, but sorry, can't help you there! Welcome to the forum anyhow!
Like me, the "g" is silent.

That's our girl - always willing to help. It's no coincidence that the new album has a track on it called Wonder Woman.

Sorry Wrezz but I can't help you either.

Okay, I do research for a living and I spent some time on this last night...it's amazing!! You're right!! I looked at hundreds of sites, and there are tabs and chords out there for every blasted EC song I can come up with and a few I don't know (which I didn't think possible), but not for "My Mood Swings."

I even tried sheet music for tracks from The Big Lebowski soundtrack, and although it exists, it seems not for that particular song.

Think you're going to have to get some guitar-savvy EC fan to figure it out for you from scratch.

If someone comes up with it, post it on the new EC Wiki (formerly The EC Home Page) for all to enjoy.

this is great. i didnt expect this much interest. ive put a rudementry first draft of the song in chords, feel free to adjust these and comment.
Because of the nature of this forum the spaces between the chords are reduced to one space, which isnt right. You will just have to work out when the chord actually occurs. :?

Verse: Warm up on Fm (bass notes)

Fm
She was smitten from the first
(Fm)
By a curious fellow
Cm7
She said I love the way you talk
Bb F
And with a flounce she then announces
Bb F NC
I love the way that you pronounce it: "Marshmallow"

(same chords fo next verse)

So she liked to sing along
To her favourite song
From the year that she was born
She had mysterious affairs (?) (not sure this line is right)
Until she woke up in the '80's

CHORUS:
Bb
So speak to me
Ab
Just like you should
Bb
And then you can say those wicked things

And if you want
Ab
We'll make it good
F9
Before my mood swings

(Verse chords)

Well he looked like one of those
Who would take off his clothes
Like he would peel a tangerine
No-one's been known to decline this
Until I've found out what your sign is

okay, im still not quite sure about the lyrics either so any comments would be greatly appriciated, i have missed out alot of chord changes but this is the very basic sequence i think :D. Still need help though! improvements would be brilliant!

Your lyrics are AOK. Some sites have this:

My Mood Swings
(MacManus/O'Riordan)

She was smitten from the first
By a curious fellow
She said I love the way you talk
And with a a flounce she announces
I love the way that you pronounce it: "Marshmallow"

So she liked to sing along
To her favourite song
From the year that she was born
She had mysterious affairs [?]
And promptly work out what her age is [?]

CHORUS:
So speak to me
Just like you should
And then you can say those wicked things
And if you want
We'll make it good
Before my mood swings

Well he looked like one of those
Who would take off his clothes
Like he would peel a tangerine
Don't ****** know what truly blind is [?]
Once you have found out what your sign is

CHORUS

And some sites have this:

She was smitten from the first
By a curious fellow
She said I love the way you talk
And with a flounce she then announces
I love the way that you pronounce it: "Marshmallow"

So she liked to sing along
To her favourite song
From the year that she was born
She had mysterious affairs (?) (not sure this line is right)
Until she woke up in the '80's

CHORUS:
So speak to me
Just like you should
And then you can say those wicked things
And if you want
We'll make it good
Before my mood swings

Well he looked like one of those
Who would take off his clothes
Like he would peel a tangerine
No-one's been known to decline this
Until I've found out what your sign is

CHORUS(x2)

Never really thought much about those "problem" lines. Once I hear the "marshmallow" I'm happy.

Maybe someone else can chime in on the true lyrics of the lines in question.

can anyone verify the chords? by the way, im playing the chords like this:
Fm (8-8-10-10-9-8)
Cm7 (8-10-8-8-8-8)
Bb (6-8-8-7-6-6)
F (1-3-3-2-1-1)
Ab (4-6-6-5-4-4)
F9 (8-8-10-8-8-8)

These are from low E to high e in regular tuning.

Try posting to the listserv, see: http://www.elviscostello.info/informati ... g_list.php

There are a bunch of folks over there who play, and usually they love to transcribe stuff!

I can easily figure it out if I had a copy of the song.

By the way most chords on the NET are hopelessly wrong. Don't believe what you read.
