Uncut reviews Elvis

Post by johnfoyle »

The October issue of Uncut reviews the recent
re-issues across two pages (Pp.132-33) , highlighting
Get Happy as `re-issue of the month`. The reviews , by
Jon Wilde , are very complimentary.

On p.130 , in a `reviewed next issue` listing
, they state

Elvis Costello , North
After last year`s When I Was Cruel , Costello makes
a swift return , minus band , with an album of 10
songs , all written at the piano , that find him in
stark but melodic mood , backed by muted arrangements
on several tracks.

The same magazine lists the late Ian
MacDonald in their contributors section , their copy
date obviously coming before his recent death. For
more about him see this Rock Backpages archive
interview with him - very interesting last paragraph.

The piece, which focuses on Get Happy!!, is great. It's the antidote to that Q shite we were discussing on the other thread.
