Not for the timid...

Read the whole thing, then ask yourself if you give a shit about the author...

Awww, she's sweet. She's got her cool t-shirts all ready. The old contradiction of being so conscientious about being cool... I'm wearing my Weezer t right now, so I'm cool too. I wonder when life has let her down will she ever look back at her blog and get eaten up by the old embarassment cancer. Or, in another way of looking at it, who cares?

The fact that she wears "old skool slip-on hot pink and black checkered vans" shows she has no taste anyways.

Case closed.

Can you tell I'm not in the best mood today?

I think it's cute; she's got to be, what, fifteen? Sixteen? She's allowed to be dumb in her journal. However, I think online journals are the worst idea in the world and anyone who keeps deserves any comments they get.

She's heading towards 18. That's getting a bit old for that kind of carry on.

Oh, little doggy, why do you get upset so? Someone go round and kick her free-loading ass.

Have you read someone called Cassie on that site? She's funny. And she loves Steve more than me. Just about.

Blog tracker

Post by A rope leash »

I came upon that site through a link at costellonews.com that lists all the current blogs that mention Elvis. I didn't see any blogs from this board, though.

I can imagine how, if someone close to me wrote that, how it might drive wedge between us, and how I might chew their ass to hamburger.

Folks like that need to spend a week or two in a homeless shelter, or maybe a slum in New Delhi. Or maybe they need to get a job in a sweatshop, or even a job at McDonald's.

Then they can have an opinion.

rope, pal, some people are just morons. the best we can do, i believe, is live the best we can, and hope the morons don't breed. and when they do, treat their kids well and hope the genes don't win out.

someday life just might hit her in the head. or it might not.

there are at least two people here who have livejournals.

As these online jounrals very juicy? Are there rules about what can be said in them? When I document, I'm very meticulous. My journals would probably be unpublishable.

my journal isn't juicy. i don't lead a juicy life. too messy.

i have LJ friends who write porn in their journals (in the guise of either roleplay or fan fiction). guess that's juicy. :)

ain't the internet grand?

rope, your journals would be read by millions. well, maybe not millions, but a whole buncha people. ;)

hmmmm I don't know....personally I wouldn't get bent out of shape over what a little teeny bopper thinks or says about Elvis....but I'm of course me, with my own distorted brand of thinking.

Web money

Post by A rope leash »

I'm not bent out of shape, I'm just bent.

Thanks for the kindness, Poppet. This is something I was thinking about just the other day: What if a writer set up a web site that enabled the surfer to download a composition for a small fee? I could charge $.50 for a poem, a dollar for a short story, and five for the novel. Payment could be through PayPal or credit card. Does anyone know of a site like this? With a few key sites linking to it, it could be sucessful.

The way the web is diluting art, the artist is having a harder time making a living. That's why "great" novels seem to be disappearing. Who is the modern day Faulkner, and why do I not know his name? Because books like Treason and Lies and the Lying Liars That Tell Them make it to the top due to the profitabilty of the "cult of personality".

Come on, Grisham is no Hemingway. In today's world, Hemingway might go unnoticed...

rope, the pay for content websites that aren't porn do not make money. people just won't pay for web content. and someone somewhere will buy one copy of your stuff, and put it up for free elsewhere.

i like the following list of bestsellers:
http://www.harvardbookstore.com/hbs-best.html

fyi, harvard bookstore was recently named the best independent bookstore in the country. it is a great place, and the newsletters make worthwhile reading if you're looking for book suggestions.

personally, i've given up on the modern novel. i've been reading nonfiction instead, stuff like bios of charles rennie macintosh and books on design. boning up on stuff for the start of the term, i guess.

Worth stealing

Post by A rope leash »

People would steal it? Gee, I'd feel like Elvis...

I'm not surprised you've given up on the novel. I don't read many myself, any more. It's sad.

I worked long and hard on my novel, and I wouldn't want to give it away, even if the general public thought it was shit. I would also not care to go through the torment of some publisher editing my every line.

You can't do it for money, anyway.

A Rope Leash...ya..I understand it...bent.....like just looking for excuses for unleashing the "wrath of Kahn" on people who cross the line and enter into your personal zone of reality...I know it well!!!!! I'm the same way. Fortunately for me I realized that these types of feelings can be used positively!!!!!!!

I'm reading Beyond Good and Evil right now, ......."Are you going to the women? Be sure to take your whip"...was a statement that made me realize that my darkness can be cultivated into love....
