EC in Denmark again and again ...and again

Post by VonOfterdingen »

After the great concert in Copenhagen in January, EC is returning to Denmark three times in 2005. He plays Tivoli sometime in the summer - a strange venue since it's a free koncert in the amusement park. Very popular and mainstream but maybe he wants to be known by every Dane before doing the H. C. Andersen thing in October.
On top of this he is now playing an expensive concert at the music theatre in Vejle the fourth of June.

Do you know if he is playing with the Imposters? Or could this been the try-out for his new Andersen opera?
Since you put me down, it seems i've been very gloomy. You may laugh but pretty girls look right through me.

Vejre seems a bit far and hard to get back from for me, being from the other side of the strait. Only possibility I see is getting a carpool together - any Swedanes up for it?

Really looking forward to hearing The Comedians at the Tivoli!

YES! I'll be at Tivoli but think I'll bypass a trip to Jutland. That gig is very small with dinner served. They were trying to advertise it in the paper as "the man who worked with Paul McCartney and Bachrach" so I expect it will be a bunch of old farts at the show eating dinner and not getting into the music.

So why not go and be the foxes in that henhouse?

The Copenhagen show was sold out, so there's gotta be a few "real" fans there, right?

Also, very small means very good to me. (venue)

+ one of those days might be good for that EC jam session? (Possession video flashback)

Hoarse...hmmmm OK. Geeks ruin my Costello shows, but maybe if we band us together and fight the geekdom together with VON maybe we'll have a blast. AND I'll jam anytime...........although I've been jamming Warren Zevon constantly.......I need somebody who's into Elvis.

So if we go as a small mob and somehow liquify that dinner...

Your thoughts on EC jamming/howling, VON?

And should we book us a center stage table (to dance on) if those are available?

I played rythm guitar in school but that's to long ago to catch up upon.

Im going to that concert though. There's a direct trainline from Copenhagen til Vejle. Proberly around 320 dkr each way and takes 2½ hour.

So you're not in on the carpooling then? Do you know anything about seats - tables, standing, etc? (My Danish is pretty effing far from OK.)

Carpooling is also fine - just need a car.
It's all seating and late last night tickets were on ground floor in front of the scene in the middle of row 9.
But i think they are going pretty fast. It's a three course menu :?

I just checked the page again and it looks like dinner is optional in the restaurant before the show, and then it's a regular gig, albeit seated, right?

I just got a ticket on row 5 through billetnet, but it says seat 24 so I guess it's far from center.

So what about howling?

Car is no problem, except that it's more expensive to drive it across the bridge from here to Copenhagen. Cope?

I have no car either...sounds like a train gig.

I have to ask my girlfriend if I can have permission to attend before I can make a commitment *ha ha* serious.......

Nope - dinner is not included. I called Musikteatret,Vejle up and they had not heard anything about a dinner. Who read about the dinner and where?

I checked the venue's homepage first. That said something to the effect that traditionally a three course dinner is included in the ticket for theatre shows, but I guess that means drama rather than rock concerts. I could be mistaken, because like I said, my Danish pretty much sucks.

But my ticket says :
"Spis i Musikteatrets Restaurant Noden för forestillingen.
2 retter kr.218-, 3 retter kr. 238-
Bordbestil. nödvendig" etc.

So that's gotta be on top of the 595 Danish (800 Swedish! That's well over $100) I paid for the ticket. Not cheap indeed. But who needs that in the country of pilsner & pölse?

I'm pretty sure I can borrow my dad's car for the drive, which will be cheaper than train tickets + hostel. And I like road trips.

Speaking of Danish gigs - my punk band just got an offer to play at a place called The Rock in Copenhagen in May (after our two week stint through Western Europe minus the UK in April). Does anyone know the place at all, and if so, any good? (another jam opportunity, b.t.w., Cope)

The Rock is a new place. I have not been there but most of the bands so far were cover-bands.

I got three tickets on row 5 in the middle for the concert in Vejle 8)

I'm not dragging my sorry ass over to Vejle for the DIN DIN gig, I've decided. I'll just see EC in Tivoli. I've seen EC 4 times in the last two years, and he's playing all the same stuff all the time. I'l settle for Tivoli. HOARSE I WILL GO TO YOUR GIG at the Rock. Send me details.
