Hah! The liars! The took money from me on Jan 5 for American Idiot (for my son's birthday Jan 13) and they've only just now confirmed despatch. they appear to have a vast stock when you look at thge website, but I suspect it's 90% bluff. Play.com seem to be much more reliable. I was told in Jersey at Christmas that play.com = 3 lads from the Catholic boys school De La Salle working out of a biggish warehouse in Jersey. 101cd is probably one person working out of their kitchen.

Here's a link that gives a different phone number (01932 770068).

I've just tried ringing it but it just goes over to a fax machine. It is after 5 so it may be worth a call in the morning.
This number is still going over to fax. I don't really want to fax from work. Maybe someone could try sending a fax from home or work (if OK).
The fax number on johnfoyle's post just rings out.

Maybe getting somewhere.
Just rang that number (020 7396 8899) and got an answer. The lady who answered told me that they take the calls for Demon now as the Demon office has closed down and if I try again in the morning she could put me through to someone who could help.

:(
Just spoken to Demon.
Due to legal problems the release has been put back indefinitely.
They hope to have it out before the end of the year and will publicise it heavily then.

I wonder what heavy publicity they will use?

I also wonder what the legal problems are. You'd have thought these would have been ironed out already.

It's a bit annoying about the DVD though. Let's hope there are no legal problems for the live one (although I can't see that there will be).

The guy on the phone said it was very much last minute as they were "all set to go". He also said that they couldn't take any chances with such a "major artist".

Thanks for going to all the trouble, John. When I first saw the extras list I immediately thought that it must have been a nightmare to get clearance for it all. Obviously this is still ongoing. I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. Maybe they'll make it a double disc job and include the Macroom footage from 1981.

Yeah, and it would've been great to see the Blood & Choclate songs from Whistle Test: the best TV stuff he's ever done, I think! Alas, I presume it's BBC copyright.

Well if the Bowie Best of DVD can include OGWT as well as all the videos, why not? Bummer about the DVD! Good news for the cashflow, though. fingers crossed it does materialise, with all that was promised, and maybe even more.

Disappointment. But it will definitely be worth the wait for those of you who haven't seen/heard the great version of Big Sister's Clothes, as sung and worn by Elvis: the big blue furry cardie, if I'm not mistaken.
