Really Bad News - The UK Tour is 1 Night only!

Post by Gilbert »

Today's Sunday Mail newspaper in Scotland has an advert for the show at Glasgow Barrowlands on 6th October.

The advert states that this is the ONLY WORLD SHOW (except Memphis)

I'd better get that ticket sharpish.

Crikey! Here's that ad -

In the entertainment section of the same paper Billy Sloan notes -

' TWO of rock’s biggest names ( E.C. and Ocean Colour Scene) will launch their new albums at their favourite UK venue - Glasgow’s Barrowland.
Elvis Costello and The Imposters will premiere their latest CD The Delivery Man at the venue on October 6. Tickets, £25, go on sale tomorrow.

An insider said: “Elvis recorded the album in Memphis and has chosen Barrowlands to play the songs to UK fans for the first time.” '

I don't understand this. "Only World Show" - do Australia and Japan not count as part of the world?
They don't seem to be able to spell "except" or "Mercury" either.
I'm not sure what to do now - wait a couple of days or send for Glasgow tickets now.
It was as much of the alphabet as I knew how to use.

Im dubious for some reason...I don't know why. It seems like he's been touring relentlessly since WIWC though, so maybe he want's a break.

I don't see any reason to believe an ad which says the only other shows were in Memphis, when the band has already played Oxford (Mississippi) and New York and is scheduled to play Japan and Australia before the end of the year.

It may be the first UK show, but I find it hard to believe it'll be the only one.
