When I Was Cruel most underrated song. 'Soul For Hire'

Post by Bob And Charlotte »

'I see every human kind
And still the truth is distant
I see every evil men do and desire
Got to be more then just a soul for hire'

Great lyrics; Mysterious, dark and sexy melody; Good singin´;...
nothing wrong with it.

oh, and please don´t come sayin´ that it doest fit with the record mood.

Congrats.
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Gotta admit that the song makes me cringe.

But so do most lawyers I know.

So I guess it gets it's point across.

WHAR really knows how to contribute to the board. I don't know what we'd do without him. At least on this occasion he didn't say " I think Almost Blue is brilliant and anyone who disagrees is an idiot"....small mercies

I still think that Tart is the best number on the record..........the coolest bass line ever in an Elvis tune.........great vocals, lyrical imagery, and a grungy noisey Beatles White Album-like bridge......

He did say on some other post he's 'mellowed' (or something similar)...this Cope scares me a bit more, like he's lying in wait... :D
A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. Do you think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a fuckin' cross? It's kind of like going up to Jackie Onassis with a rifle pendant on.

Doesn't people generally like "Soul For Hire"? My few EC pals do. Deserves to be played at least once on Ally McBeal.
"Dissolve" isn't as popular as that one, for what I understand, so I'd say that's the underrated one. Would have been cool to hear that wild harmonica and vocal screech in that old Wim Wenders film (Not sure about the title - "Waiting For The End Of The World"?) instead of "Days".
