Wow! It’s amazing the lengths fellow Board members will go to prove me wrong

And of course, as a Brit, Watching the Detectives is not a My Aim Is True track!
Who’s this kid with his mumbo jumbo?

amazed, re allison, but, so, next round. if detectives wins..."not really MAIT," therefore redshoes wins either way?!

now, to tell the truth, r.s. is my final preference, if only for the lines
"I won't get any older
Now the angels wanna wear my red shoes"

for me the best description of discovering rock and roll, discovering music, feeling saved/rescued just in time

oh, and the "drop dead" thing is fabulous...

....have i given too much away about my voting?

I'm one of those who voted Alison out. My choices as the rounds have progressed have been increasingly decided by asking myself 'Is the MAIT version better than the song is usually when played live?' Songs such as Alison, great as it is on the LP, have generally been superior live -incrementally polished every time. Whereas there are other songs (including the one about footwear  ) which had reached peak maturity when put down on MAIT and are pretty much the definitive versions and can't be improved, at least for me.
