Elvis phone interview with Matt Everitt on BBC Radio 6Music, February 5, 2020

Post by Man out of Time »

On the Shaun Keaveny show on BBC Radio 6 Music just now, there was a short phone interview with Elvis talking about the forthcoming UK tour, putting together setlists for the tour, recovery from his prostate cancer operation in 2018 and why he does not write songs about Trump or Brexit.

The show should be available to "listen again" once it has finished. The show page is here:

BBC Radio 6Music - Shaun Keaveny

The show started at 13:00 GMT and the interview with Elvis was broadcast at 14:43, so an hour and 43 minutes into the show, if you are looking to find it on the BBC Sounds app.

Elvis on the 'phone. About 10 minutes of taped chat , with extracts from the usual 70s/80s songs . Nothing really new. Non- committal comments on Brexit/Trump, which has prompted a hostile tweet from a keyboard warrior. The chat goes into a full play of Shipbuilding, without a sign off comment , and no back comment after the song. Maybe some more extracts featured later. However, while skipping through the playback, there's only so much I could take of infantile millennials going on about sausage rolls . Add repeated use of that most redundant of phrases 'to be honest' ( so the rest was a lie ? ) and I lost the will to listen anymore .

So - how was your day ? :) :)
