Elvis in new Elton John autobiography

Post by Neil. »

Hi all - I had a peek in the index of the new Reg Dwight tome. Elvis gets a mention - I think it was page 167, or 267.

It says that in the mid-70s, Elton offered to be pianist on the Live Stiffs tour with Elvis et al!! Can you imagine? He says he offered cos he had a crush on Wreckless Eric.

Elton championed Elvis very early in his career.

I had never been aware of this. I had assumed that any reference, or affiliation, was Krall-related.

(The Live Stiffs component seems a bit dubious, I must say...)

Yeah, I seem to remember reading somewhere that 'This Year's Model' was Elton's favourite record of that year.

In the late 70's Capital Radio used to have music awards. Elton won best male singer but said Elvis should have won it.

Elvis and Diana married at Elton's house I think
