The Style Council and Elvis sing My Ever Changing Moods
Sheeptotheslaughter retweeted this but I thought it would be better to share it on the forum.
The cheer at 1.37 is where Elvis enters.

Great version - what a thrill to hear this. Elvis nearly 'wins' but they end up harmonising as equals!

Brilliant.
Weller's solo stuff doesn't do much for me but I was a huge Style Council fan.

I know Weller faced tremendous media backlash for breaking up The Jam and I personally never felt like The Style Council matched the Jam on so many levels but it seemed something Paul needed to do to evolve as a writer !
So you were the one !!Weller's solo stuff doesn't do much for me but I was a huge Style Council fan.

Weller was so restricted by the limitations of the Jam and had to move on. The Jam were one of the best live bands I ever saw, seeing the 14 times. I've also see Paul Weller solo 14 times and Bruce Foxton's From the Jam 10 times, but only ever saw the Style Council twice, and one of those was at a Live Aid!
My head is spinning and my legs are weak

Since circa 2008 and his "22 Dreams" album onwards Weller has been in a rich vein of form including his latest "A Kind Revolution". Oh and his earlier solo work like Stanley Road is a pretty decent effort. He may have gone a tad "samey" for a while (Dad Rock as it was called) but I agree he had to do the Style Council thing in order to produce his future solo work and prolong his relevance and longevity.

STELLAR work these solo years since 1991. I have seen nearly every solo tour, despite ODDLY never seeing my beloved THE JAM. THE MAN NEVER DISAPPOINTS...MONSTROUS SONGS, VOICE AND PLAYING. I am always ready for his next.Heats101 wrote:Since circa 2008 and his "22 Dreams" album onwards Weller has been in a rich vein of form including his latest "A Kind Revolution". Elvis really nails the vocals here. He had a tremendous voice.
