Leicester 1982 September 24th

Post by sulky lad »

I'm in the process of recording a few early shows for a fellow board member and in the process of recording this show, I find my recording is completely different to the setlist posted on the wiki and also to the one in GTTM. Does anyone have a recording of the show that is identical to those setlists ?
The tracklist that my recording has goes
1. Pidgin English
2. Hand In Hand
3. Green Shirt
4. Shabby Doll
5. Watch Your Step
6. Backstabbers-King Horse
7. Watching The Detectives - help me
8. Kid About It
9. Temptation
10. From Head To Toe
11. Everyday I write the Book ( first liver performance since being written in Derby the day before !)
12. You Belong To Me
13. New Lace Sleeves
14. Imperial Bedroom
15. And In Every home
16. I can't Stand Up
17. Good Year For The Roses
18. Why Don't You Love me
19. Man Out Of Time
20. Pump It Up
21. Danger Zone
22. Peace, Love And Understanding
23. Shipbuilding
24. Oliver's Army
25. Big Sister's Clothes ( intro only)

My recording lacks
Beyond Belief
Chelsea
Alison
Clubland
The Long Honeymoon
Lipstick Vogue
Two Steps From The Blues
and
Mystery Dance
I'm assuming maybe BA, Do, ANCT and Dave Fave can help here , please ?
It would be nice to find the recording that matches the wiki and maybe we could then ascribe this one to maybe Derby since there's never been any recording of that in circulation !

Sulky,
my Leicester 82 is the same set list as what you listed.

Of course, I probably got this tape from you!

Thanks Dave, I wonder where the info for the wiki setlist came from - I'll have to dig out my 1982 (or possibly early 1983)ECIS now !
Thanks again for looking, Dave

The wiki setlist was taken from Going Through The Motions. I have a cassette of the show that hasn't been digitized. I will check it soon.

Thanks, ANCT.
Because of the timing and the fact that Elvis has mentioned that the song EIWTB was written in a Derby hotel ( and they played there the night before) makes me wonder if this is possibly from Derby rather than from Leicester. However, the setlist does differ from nearly all the others during the U.K. tour in terms of the way the songs have followed each other so I wonder if the recording I have is from a cassette made up by a collector from those dim and distant days. On first listening in 35 years it seems fragmentary rather than flowing like a complete recording from a single source. I'll give it another listen over the weekend.
