Go Elvis indeed!

However I admit I find his 'reading voice' a bit stilted, and then came to wonder which professional voice could have been hired instead.

Think it requires the ability to inject some Scouse into the delivery, unless reading bits covering 1977/78 when stealth recordings indicate he had a pronounced Cockney accent on stage.

So concluded that Rory Bremner would have been a decent choice - but please feel free to contribute better ones.

More promo for the book, prompted by the audio book being nominated for a Grammy. There's a 'bad language' warning at the start so Elvis might have been a bit expressive. I'm listening now - it starts about five minutes in.

Usual stories except for some interesting comments at the end , c. 17 minutes , about using the word 'baton' in a 'recent composition'.

Thanks for posting, John. At about the 6.50 mark, Elvis makes reference to 'nerd' being an 'unpleasant modern word like **** (I cant decipher what he says here) and blog'. Can any sharper-eared members help me out with the missing word please?
I love you just as much as I hate your guts.

'MEH' - he's right - awful word , my nieces use it all the time , usually when I'm talking to them.

Elvis mispronounces it: "Muh". As per wiki it's "mɛ" (rhymes with "dress"). I don't think it's such a bad word. Ditto nerd.

How annoying is the podcast host. At first, I just wanted to punch him in the face, well, punch my phone in hope that it might somehow reach his face.

What's with the bit about snow? MEH.. Yeah that's right I said it. A lazy word for a lazy gal.

Elvis is awesome here. It's just the host... He gets on my nerves. I think my blood pressure went up just listening to him. Sorry, just one gal's opinion. Shutting up now.
