The venue websites in Des Moines, Overland Park, Wichita, Austin, and Atlanta say Larkin Poe will support.

agreed Mike. considering the last night of the tour, he premiered FOURTEEN songs including my beloved IMAGINATION IS A POWERFUL DECEIVER and a monstrous world premiere live of MY NEW HAUNT, i deem it in my TOP FIVE EVER EC SHOWS ALSO! ANOTHER GREAT NIGHT IN NEW JERSEY. 8)

I've been tortured with regret about missing 11/27 in Morristown. I was actually at the subway entrance about to head to Penn Station and out there that night....and got lazy and went home instead. Stupid, stupid, stupid..

Luckily I have video of it.

It seems that life every now and then comes inbetween. I guess we all have those missed gigs.

Now, now...WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THIS VG? There has been exactly one show that I can deem a slight disappointment. And only because of where and the general feel of the night. MSG June 1991, the Rude 5. Considering it was in the world's greatest arena, E was somewhat not in synch with that fact. He approached it in exact contrast to what he could have done, concentrating instead on oblique Spike and MLAR tunes (my two least fave records) & many, as yet, unreleased KOJAK songs. It worked for me and my collecting of many songs I had not seen yet. Nonetheless, the night had a rather odd feel to it from beginning to end. Two months later, in New Jersey had a much more consistent feel to it. He is better in theatres. Yet, 1982 opening for GENESIS in Philly at JFK STADIUM, was one of the finest. Which clearly obliterates my logic of smaller venue working best for him. I guess, YOU NEVER KNOW! :D

Agree that the MSG show in 1991 was my only truly disappointing EC live experience.

That said: I'm struck by the high dudgeon suggested by Bronx Apostle's "WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" comment.

I realize that, by definition, this site, this forum is a place for people who love EC. But, you know, there's room for nuance. It's possible to hate some of what he's done--yes, hate--and still be an undying devotee of his work.

I remember a couple of years ago asking people to name their least-liked EC song/his worst song (I forget how I phrased it), and people were aghast at my breaching of ECFF orthodoxy. What's wrong with discussing that part of our fandom? I'd be hugely interested to see people's lists of their five least-fave songs. Given all the trivia and tangents that get discussed here, what's wrong with that?

Oh, BTW. His worst song? "Playboy to a Man," clearly.

I know BA well enough not to have taken any offence.

There have been a few poor shows - the Tower of London show in 2007 (particularly as that was the only time I ever saw Allen Toussaint), the Kojak Variety launch show at Shepherds Bush Empire where Elvis' voice was shot, the 3 Rude 5 shows I saw in 1991 at Hammersmith Odeon.

But they are only my views.
