A friend in the U.S. can't make the Friday & Saturday shows. Send me a personal message and I can put you in touch for email transfer of one ticket for each show.

By the way, there's quite a lot of merchandise. A lot of it is premium prices for autographed copies of the book (in both hardback and paperback), the CD and DVD. Non-autographed items are also available.

Also there are a good range of T shirts, a hoodie and vinyl albums.

I'm not going to the Palladium shows but will be in London tomorrow to see Laura Cantrell at Union Chapel. If anyone is around it would be great to meet up. Central London or early evening in Islington - I'll let demand dictate!

I should be in central London by c.2.30 . Maybe the coffe shop in Waterstones by Traflagar Square ?

Will we see Elvis perform "God's Comic" on the Palladium stage?

We had to wait until the final night of the four night run, but we did indeed hear "God's Comic" on the stage of the London Palladium. I think the failure to play it every night was perhaps due to Elvis looking for someone to produce "A Face In The Crowd" as a musical, and his half-joking comment that perhaps he should have a word with "the management" of the Palladium.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask those who bought VIP tickets whether the organisers actually posted the VIP item they said they didn't have on the night? They took everyone's address for it.

I haven't heard or received anything. I have a feeling they are not actually going to send anything, so we basically paid for something we're not getting.

I contacted See Tickets and the London Palladium/RUT and they both pass the buck and tell me it's not their responsibility. Well, that's where I bought the tickets from. There's no one else left to contact. Someone mention the show's producer. Why would they have anything to do with VIP tickets?? It's not looking good.

Any thoughts? :?

I've not received anything either. I'm sure something will arrive - they probably haven't dug or decided what they'll give us or what's lurking around in a warehouse somewhere.

Perhaps it will be a 2 Tone copy of I can't stand up for falling down

In reality it'll probably be some rubbish plectrum set.

I've just received this:

"Dear Customer,

We have received the following from the promoter of Elvis Costello at the London Palladium.

'Unfortunately it was not possible to provide the complimentary programme that you were entitled to as part of your VIP package (one programme per two persons), as no tour programme was produced.

We are sorry for any disappointment caused, and as a replacement we have secured copies of Elvis Costello's book 'Unfaithful Music and Disappearing Ink'. We are awaiting delivery from the publisher and we anticipate that we should be in a position to dispatch them by the end of June.

Should you not wish to receive a copy of this book, we would like to offer you instead a refund of £6.00 (per two packages purchased).'

Should you require a refund please email customer.relations@seetickets.com.

Hmm - shall I take the £6 or a copy of the book...

I think I'd rather have a crappy plectrum set than either the book or the refund ! Why not a nice pro audio CD of a couple of tracks missing from the Liverpool Detour DVD or a free ticket for Henley (lol) See I could get you in anywhere, VG. Come back, Jake we miss your talents !

Not being one to let things go, I emailed See Tickets again yesterday to find out what the current position is. I've just received this response:

"Hello

This was passed on to the producers who have confirmed that the book was sent yesterday – so should be received in the next few days.

Kind Regards

So perhaps we'll receive this soon - it's only 6 months late...

So are we all meant to be getting one, or is this just a special deal with you to hush you up ? Any idea ?

You do wonder.

The staff at the Palladium (I didn't go to Warwick - it did not move me  ) took names and addresses of the people who had VIP tickets (see mine and FrankieJ's posts above).

I've been persistent. It could be coincidence that the book was sent after my 3rd email and that they are all being despatched or maybe they are trying to get me off their back. That's why I'm interested if anyone else has heard.
