Clickimin Centre, Lerwick - 16th July 1991

Post by Offshoreram »

I was wondering if anyone has a copy or scan of the article published in one of the broadsheets (the Independent or Guardian?) about this gig.

I was interviewed, among others, by the reporter after the show and there was a decent spread in the paper published a day or two after the date.

I had a copy and I was trying to pull together all my memorabilia and cannot find that clipping!

I was actually misquoted in the article and the article was further misquoted in Brian Hilton's Biography, Let Them All Talk.

If anyone has the article and can scan me a copy I'd be very, very grateful :D

I think that's all I may have - I'll know later. That, incidentally, looks like The Independent.

That's the one.

I'm the Instrument Technician who caught the gig on the way down from the oilfields.

I think I said something like I try and catch at least one show on every tour and this was the 20th time I had seen him. Which became seeing every one of his 20 tours. Journalists?

This was then slightly misquoted in the biography by Brian Horton

Thanks all :D

Interesting comment that Elvis enjoyed it more than Hammersmith. Those Hammersmith shows were quite painful if you went to more than one of them!
